Boca de Agua Bacalar

We had a fantastic stay! The place is beautiful, the staff is extremely friendly, and the chefs created a fantastic menu. But specifically, it is Herman, the concierge. He enlightened our days—truly an incredible host.

Boca de Agua is such a peaceful, special place that truly deserves to be protected. The lagoon is absolutely beautiful and so calming. The staff — Remsey, Andrés, Mario, and Radwin — were incredibly helpful and genuinely fun to spend time with.

Absolutely incredible, secluded, and relaxing place to stay. Friendly and attentive staff, fantastic amenities, delicious food and wonderful design. Absolutely recommend!

At each stage of our experience something went wrong. weather it be the communication before regarding the number of people for the room, the additional payment for an extra room when arriving, if breakfast was included or not, even after we got confirmation from one person on something, the other people didn't know about it and we were consistently trying to get a clear answer that everyone could agree on. food was fantastic though.

The location is very beautiful!!! The atmosphere was perfect 👌..The room was wonderful and super clean!! The value was perfect.. The hotel is super clean and breathtaking ♥️. Noise level was perfect hearing the birds in the morning so beautiful 💯...The service was unbelievable so professional...Great food and drinks 🍸The amenities was amazing....Since our first day of arrival until our last day we got treated with so much care.. If we needed anything thru the day or night they made it happen..My wife and I give this place five 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟.. highly recommend!!!! 10/10👏 Thank you so much for everything( BOCA DE AGUA) Hopefully we'll see each other again.

A hotel in downfall...We stayed for four nights at what could have been a stunning property—beautiful architecture, impressive lagoon platform—but the experience fell dramatically short in every other respect. From the moment we arrived, it was clear there was no coherent management in place. The staff felt distant and disengaged; we genuinely felt unwelcome (Herman & David excluded). Common areas were visibly neglected and poorly maintained. The restaurant was a particularly frustrating example of systemic mismanagement: slow service, unfriendly staff, and expensive yet unrefined food. After one night of we opted for nearby alternatives like "Our Habitas." It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful hotel squandered by poor hospitality and a lack of operational competence.
